Most gut-support supplements lean on one or two probiotics and stop there. FloraClear takes a broader approach, built around a longer ingredient list than most products in this category carry. Magnesium citrate in the mix contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and normal muscle function.

Description

What Is FloraClear?

Three capsules a day cover a fairly wide spread: amino acid derivatives (L-glutamine, N-acetyl-L-cysteine), a mineral (Magnesium citrate), an enzyme (Bromelain), a fatty acid (Caprylic acid), three plant extracts (Indian Barberry root, Oregano oil, Ginger root) and a protein (Lactoferrin).

Put together with everyday gut balance and general wellbeing in mind, drawing on ingredients that don't usually turn up together in the same capsule.

ℹ️

A food supplement, not a medicine. It's not meant to diagnose or treat digestive issues, and persistent gut discomfort is worth mentioning to your GP rather than something a capsule should replace.

Is FloraClear Right For You?

  • Anyone who's looked into oregano oil, caprylic acid or bromelain separately but never got round to buying all three
  • People who'd rather their Magnesium came alongside plant extracts than as a bare mineral tablet
  • Anyone comfortable with three capsules a day rather than looking for a single-pill option

How The Formula Works

  • L-glutamine (500 mg) An amino acid the gut lining relies on for its own cell turnover [1], often included in gut-support formulas for this reason.
  • N-acetyl-L-cysteine (450 mg) A derivative of the amino acid cysteine [2], traditionally used to help support the body's own antioxidant activity [3].
  • Magnesium Citrate (300 mg) Contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal muscle function [4, 5] and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.*
  • Bromelain (250 mg) An enzyme extracted from pineapple stems [6], long associated with comfort after eating.
  • Caprylic Acid (150 mg) A fatty acid found naturally in coconut oil [7], included here for its traditional role in gut-balance blends.
  • Indian Barberry Root (103.1 mg) A plant extract with a long history of traditional use [8, 9] around everyday gut balance.
  • Lactoferrin (50 mg) A protein naturally present in the body [10], commonly included in wellbeing formulas for its role in normal immune activity [11].
  • Oregano Oil (50 mg) Used for generations as a kitchen staple with a reputation [12] that extends into gut-balance formulas.
  • Ginger Root Extract (50 mg) A familiar root with a long culinary and traditional history around digestive comfort [13] after meals.

* EFSA-authorised health claim.

How To Use It

Three capsules daily with water, ideally with a meal since it's a heavier dose than a single-capsule product.

Drinking enough water throughout the day and keeping meals reasonably balanced still matter more than any capsule for everyday digestive comfort.

Strengths & Trade-Offs

What Works

Nine ingredients that would otherwise mean buying several separate products. Magnesium citrate carries a genuine EFSA-backed claim, and the 180-day guarantee gives plenty of time to see if it suits you.

What's Not So Great

Three capsules is a bigger daily ask than most competitors, and most of the plant-based ingredients here don't carry their own authorised claims. Shop only, no pharmacy stock, and everyone's gut responds a bit differently.

A Word From Julie TheNutriShop's author & product analyst →

Nine ingredients in one capsule is a lot to review properly, so this one took me longer than most. I checked each dosage against what's typically used in standalone products for oregano oil and caprylic acid specifically, since those tend to vary a lot between brands.

The three capsules aren't a small ask, but the breadth of the formula is genuinely rare for the category. It's not a light everyday supplement, it's built for people who already know they want this specific combination.

We answer your questions

Does FloraClear upset the stomach at first?

Some people notice mild digestive discomfort in the first few days, which is fairly common when introducing a formula this broad, and it usually settles as the body adjusts.

Is it safe to take while pregnant?

Not recommended without checking with your GP first, same for breastfeeding and children. With a formula this broad, it's especially worth getting the go-ahead before starting.

Can I buy this in a shop?

No, it's online only through our shop, that's how stock and pricing are kept consistent.

What's the cheapest way to buy it?

£49 a box on the 6-month pack, versus £69 for a single month. The full breakdown is in the pricing table above.

Will it interact with antibiotics?

If you're on antibiotics or any medication affecting the digestive system, check with your GP or pharmacist before starting, timing can matter with a formula like this.

Do I need to cycle this or take breaks?

Daily use is generally fine. If you're planning on taking it long-term, a healthcare professional can give advice specific to your situation.

Can this be taken with a multivitamin?

Usually yes, just keep an eye on your total Magnesium intake so you don't end up doubling up unintentionally.

What happens if I forget a dose?

Just continue as normal the next day, there's no need to make up for a missed dose by doubling the next one.

Ready when you are

180 days to try it properly, full refund if it's not for you.

Storage & Use

Somewhere cool and dark is best, below 25°C ideally, since a formula with this many plant extracts holds up less well in heat or direct sun than a simpler one would.

Close the container properly after each use and keep it away from children. The facility follows GMP guidelines, but a decent diet does more for digestive comfort than storage conditions ever will.

⚠️ One thing worth stating outright: this page isn't offering a diagnosis, and Julie isn't a doctor. FloraClear is sold as a supplement, not a promise.

Anyone on medication or dealing with a chronic condition should run it past their GP first. It costs nothing to check, and it's the sensible order to do things in.

Wasn't sure this would do much but my bloating's calmed down loads since I started taking it. Easy to swallow, no weird aftertaste. Three weeks in and I actually look forward to my meals again instead of dreading how I'll feel after.
